I took notes as I read for my lit circles. Overall I enjoyed this book very much. It shocked me to hear some of Mooney's stories about how his teachers reacted towards him being in special education because I have pretty much learned to do the exact opposite things as a teacher. Names and titles that were given to him while he was in school stuck with him his whole life and I believe it is important to notice this because not only for individuals in special education but everyone should be treated equally and the bad names and memories stick with them their whole life. I like how Mooney didn't go around preaching or just telling his story but actually related to other people as he traveled the across the United States in his short bus.
